About Howard

HOWARD CHARLES

Born in North Wales, Howard studied Opera at The Royal Northern   College of Music, with piano as his second study. He completed    Graduate and Professional Performers Courses, and in addition studied The Art of Teaching.

Howard has worked extensively internationally and throughout the U.K, singing leading Operatic roles in America, Switzerland, Germany and France. Howard has performed on the concert platform in Oratorios,  Recitals and Galas, with many Television, Film and radio performances.

He has won two major scholarship awards from The Countess of     Munster Musical Trust, and two awards from the Peter Moores Foundation. He studied Voice with Eduardo Asquith and also in New York with the renowned Baritone and teacher, Theodore Upman.

He has taught extensively for 25 years, including 10 years as a Singing Tutor at Warwick University, as well as in Theatre Schools, colleges and schools, giving workshops and tuition in singing and performance.

Howard is Co-Principal of Genesis Theatre Schools & Agency, which has been providing a high standard of professional performing arts tuition to pupils in the midlands, for 23 years.

Creating the innovative City Music Services in 2001, with his business partner Mark Luther, CMS take music tuition & events into the highly pressurised environment of City based firms and the business districts of London. During the last 9 years, he has used his considerable knowledge as a singer and a voice coach, to formulate and host business seminars and workshops for a variety of professional clients, using using the training and skills that professional performers normally only experience, for enhanced individual and group communication skills. Howard’s work in the City, also includes a considerable amount of choral conducting, which he enjoys enormously!
